Wee Care

wee careWEE Care is a weekday ministry of First Baptist Church dedicated to the physical care and education of young children. Programs include preschool, day care and school age care (summer only.)

First Baptist Church considers it a privilege to play such an important role in the lives of young children and their families.  The staff takes very seriously its responsibility to provide a safe environment, where children receive the love and care they need to help develop to their fullest potential.

Mission Statement

The purpose of Wee Care is to extend the ministry of First Baptist Church by providing quality childcare, education, and developmental activities for each child enrolled, encouraging growth and development of the total child—socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. This is to be accomplished by providing a distinctively Christian atmosphere, developmentally appropriate activities and guidance, and a program of ministry and outreach to the families of children enrolled.

Curriculum

Our goal is to build foundations for literacy, numbers, spiritual growth, the arts, and critical thinking which promote positive attitudes that relate to future school success. The WEE LEARN curriculum (published for Southern Baptist weekday programs) is used and supplemented where necessary to provide a Christian based readiness program which is designed to develop the whole child physically, socially, academically, and spiritually. Our curriculum includes music, gymnastics, as well as faith and fitness training.

Philosophy

Childhood should be a time of fun, security, exploring, discovery, and learning. Young children are creative and receptive; the staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in the children who attend. We have a full staff at WEE Care who work together to teach and care for your child and create a Christ-centered environment that is inviting and full of exciting activities!
