Missions

Women on Mission (WMU)

From its inception, W.M.U. has sought to teach, pray and study missions. Aside from their regular meetings (call the church office for a recent schedule), W.M.U. focuses on two weeks of prayer. At Christmas, we pray and give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. At Easter, the spotlight shifts to Annie Armstrong and North American Missions. Also, we support the Margaret Lackey State Missions offering of the MBCB in the Fall of each year. If it's local, state-wide, North American, or International missions W.M.U. is at work.

Girls in Action

GA's is a mission organization for girls in grades 1-6. The program is designed to teach the girls the basics of how our Baptist mission boards function and what the life of a missionary is like. They also participate in many community-centered mission activities, and have lots of fun in the process of learning how to serve others in the name of Jesus! The highlight of each year is attending Mission Madness in the spring. It is a super exciting day, usually attended by 450 to 500 GA's!

Children's Missions Organizations meet from January through May on Wednesday nights from 5:30 until 6:30.

Mission Friends

Mission Friends is a mission organization for boys and girls, ages 3 to 5. Each week they are introduced to a missionary and the work he or she does to help others learn who Jesus is. They also participate in age-appropriate mission projects and learn about giving to others in the name of Jesus.

Royal Ambassadors

The Royal Ambassadors, designed for boys in grades 1 through 6, are involved in both learning and doing missions. RAs come into contact with actual mission work on the local front, a hands-on approach.

First Baptist Church Mission Experiences

From Nehemiah Work Days on the FBC campus to international mission trips in Ecuador and India to helping a church planter in New Orleans, First Baptist is committed to doing missions locally and globally.
