In 1872, Brother W.B.Gallman led the organization of First Baptist Church with a charter membership of thirteen. Today we enjoy a resident membership of 1500 plus.
Under a number of faithful pastors the church progressed for the next 25 years to a membership of 88 in 1896. In that year, with Brother G. W. Riley as pastor, the fellowship voted to become a full-time ministry. He served until the turn of the century.

Our church has been blessed with a large number of its young people who have gone forth from Brookhaven to serve the Lord all over the world.
In December 1971, construction was begun on our present Sanctuary and Family Life Center. Today we occupy these facilities, believing that our Lord has still a greater work for this great Church.
Through the prayers of our Christian fellowship and the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we expect to add to our heritage so that our posterity will receive at least as much from us as we have received from those who came before. |
