Student Ministry ParentsHello Parents -
You Matter! Please let us know how we can support you in ministry to your family.
There are several ways you can stay up-to-date in our student ministry. First of all, we send out a monthly calendar. Sure, some things change on it after printing, but it gives a pretty clear outlook on the month ahead. Another way to stay updated would be our parent website - fbcbrookparents.wordpress.com - You can even sign up for updates to your email when information changes. And, of course, there are the weekly opportunities like Sunday School, Rock Solid, DGroups, etc where information is passed on through announcements, bulletins, slideshows, and conversations.
In May, we celebrate Graduate Sunday. If you have a Senior this year then let us begin by saying, CONGRATS. This is such a special time for you and we consider it a privilege to honor you as your church family on this day during our worship service. We will send you more information about the weekend in the coming weeks, but we wanted to let you know that we are looking forward to celebrating this special day with you. One more thing on this: Parents of Seniors, this year we will need pictures in to Dana by Tuesday, April 30th. You may submit up to 10 pictures (With one being a nice, senior type picture) for our slideshows and bulletin (Yes, you will get them back).
In June, we have two great opportunities - VBS and CAMP. VBS (Vacation Bible School) is a great opportunity for our students to lead others from Kindergarten to 6th grade. All students are supervised by caring adults, but yet given a little room to grow and learn in the process as well. Let us know if you would like your student to lead during this time and we will get you more information.
The date of camp is June 24-28 and we are going back to the lazy river of Orange Beach, AL. Our speaker is Chris Culver and David Walker and Band will lead our worship. I cannot wait for camp - consider joining us for this life-changing week.
In July, we have Super Summer - July 15 - 19. This is a leadership camp hosted by our Mississippi Baptist Convention Board on the campus of Mississippi College. There are some serious guidelines given by the leadership of Super Summer to be eligible for this camp of student leaders from around Mississippi. In fact, those hoping to go to Super Summer this year have already been meeting requirements to do so. If you would like more information on how you can qualify for next year's Super Summer, please let us know. It would definitely be worth it! This year the speaker is our friend, Bryant "BB" Bush and the worship is led by Stephen Miller.
Of course there are also a number of other opportunities in the next few months (Bible studies, day trips in the summer, etc). In the coming weeks, we will send out more information on that. For now, though, consider targeting these mainstream events (Especially Camp) as an opportunity for you family to minister together. Let us know if we can help in any way.

Weekly Opportunities
ROCK SOLID - During the school year, Rock Solid meets every Wednesday night in the FLC from 6:15-7:15 PM. Students come early to shoot basketball in the gym, play ping-pong, and just hang out together. We also open up "The Grille" with our "World-Famous" cook, Jeff Rogers. In The Grille, everything is $1, so it is easy to plan ahead for a great meal. At 6:15, we usually have a time of worship led by guests from around our State, along with a message straight from God's Word - The Bible. Feel free to come one Wednesday night and check it out for yourself.
SUNDAY SCHOOL - Every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, we meet in the fellowship hall of FBC for Sunday School. We have great teachers who are ready to teach the Word, small group leaders who are actively looking to connect with your student (Not just during the Sunday School time), and doughnuts. We usually have three different classes available. Here is the Sunday School breakdown: 7th/8th Grade, 9th-12th Grade, and College.
SUNDAY NIGHT OPPORTUNITIES - Throughout the year, we have different opporutnties on Sunday nights. If you are interested in knowing more or seeing how you could help out, let us know.
